Thank you to everyone for attending our MBCG public meeting at St Mary’s Church on Monday 7th March.
We heard from members of the MBCG group: Peter Eaton (our Chair); Tim Catchpole and Geoff Woodhouse who presented a series of slides about the new hybrid scheme for the brewery site. Two applications will be submitted to Richmond Council by Reselton Properties shortly . This is Application A for the whole site and Application B for the secondary school.
In a nutshell, the revised proposals will still have a significant impact on Mortlake and surrounding areas unless significant changes are made to the density, height of buildings and retention of green space – most notably scrap the Council’s requirement for a redundant secondary school on the brewery sports field.
The slides from Monday night include visuals from the developer’s own presentation that were presented at their information webinars in January. These presentations are available on the developer’s website.
The full MBCG presentation can be downloaded here.
Next steps
The planning applications will need to be validated before public consultation can take place. We do not anticipate this will take place much before Easter. MBCG will review the applications and produce a response that will help people to frame their own comments to the Council.
We will keep in touch and will set out the actions we need to take to ensure the voice of the community continues to be heard.
