About Us

The Mortlake Brewery Community Group was created in 2017 to enable the local community to respond to the planned redevelopment of the old Mortlake Stag Brewery site –formerly owned by Watney and then the makers of the American beer Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch InBev).

The 21 acre site lies between the railway line and the river in an historic corner of west London, offering great potential for revitalising the area.

MBCG’s purpose is to ensure that the redevelopment of the site works for all residents of Mortlake and surrounding areas for generations to come.

Whether you live in Mortlake, work in Mortlake or just love Mortlake, have your say in the redevelopment plans.

Read on the details of ‘Our Purpose, Vision and Goals‘. Detailed notes of all meetings and decisions related to the development can be found our Reports & Meetings page.

MBCG is an umbrella group of residents and representatives of local organisations with a common interest in ensuring that the redevelopment of the brewery site provides a new village heart for Mortlake with buildings and public spaces of the highest quality.

We are not opposed to the development, but seek to ensure that it answers the needs of all residents and visitors, now and in the future. MBCG is a voluntary organisation and has no political affiliation.
