Will the new London Plan 2021 help us?
The London Plan is newly adopted, and this now places the onus on Local Authorities to set limits on development in terms of tall buildings – (seven storeys in the case of the Stag site). This and other planning policy issues now support our efforts to scale back the height, scale and density of the current plans submitted by the developer. We have summarised this in a formal representation to the GLA’s planning team
This is a technical, planning related submission and is specifically focused on the harms created by the current scheme and highlights deviation from and/or violation of latest planning policy in the London Plan.
Making the case behind the scenes
We have used the opportunity of the delay of the Planning Hearing to restate our case to the Mayor of London and National Planning Casework Unit and Network Rail. Both MBCG and Thames Bank Residents Association have drawn on legal and planning arguments to craft detailed letters of objection to the present scheme.
