PLANNING INQUIRY UPDATE

Nov 7, 2024

The Stag brewery closed down in 2014. Ten years later, the future of the site is still being hotly debated. Following an appeal to the then Secretary of State, Michael Gove, by Reselton Properties, earlier this year, a  Planning Inquiry is now underway to assess the two planning applications approved by Richmond Council. After some delay, the Inquiry began on Tuesday 5th November. The Planning Inspector is Mr Glen Rollings and he will make a final decision based on  evidence from Reselton Properties, Richmond Council, The Mayor of London, Mortlake Brewery Community Group and West London River Group. The Inspector is also hearing from other interested parties including local residents, schools and local Councillors.

The inquiry is open to the public and this month is being  held at Clarendon Hall, York House,  Richmond Road ,Twickenham, TW1 3AA from Tuesday 5th to  Friday 8th November and  Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th November. The Inquiry will continue in December but will be held at a different venue in Twickenham.

The Inspector aims to publish his decision in February/March 2025.

The Inspector is happy for members of the public who attend the inquiry to contribute or ask a  question when time  in the programme allows.

We  have been impressed with the impartial  and open way the Inspector is conducting the Inquiry and urge people to come along and or watch online.
