FURTHER DELAY ON PLANNING DECISION AND ANOTHER CONSULTATION!

Sep 22, 2022

Decisions on the two re-submitted A and B planning applications for the Stag brewery site are to be delayed yet again.  We understand from Dartmouth Capital, who act for the developers, that recent design changes to their scheme will require another round of public consultations.  The developer’s architects have had to revise the internal layouts of the taller buildings to comply with new fire regulations; post-Grenfell, (this includes Buildings 2/3/7/8/11 East of Ship Lane submitted in detail). Richmond Council have also asked for Building 10 on Mortlake High St. to be reduced by one floor.

Richmond Council will need to once again consult with the local community about these changes before the Planning Committee can meet to discuss and decide on the planning applications for the site.

We will ask both Richmond Council and the developer to make completely clear what the design changes comprise so that it is easier for local residents to navigate through the mass of information on the Council’s website.

Formal notice of this next stage of public consultations is expected in the next two weeks – (by post if you have previously submitted comments/by press notice/local council posters). We will all have 30 days in which to respond.

It is NOT necessary to comment on the overall scheme – Applications A&B – but just on the design changes. We do advise however that you should re-iterate your overall stance on the development, as well as comments on the new changes.

As a result of these latest design changes the scheme is unlikely now to go before the Richmond Council Planning Committee until December or possibly January 2023, but we will keep you posted as soon as we hear of a firm date.

We are holding a public meeting at St. Mary’s Church, Mortlake High St on Monday 17th October at 7pm – which we hope will be before the deadline of comments on the design changes.  We will summarise latest news, other local developments, and share views of the latest changes proposed for the scheme to help residents respond to the consultation. Our new Green Councillor for Mortlake and Barnes Common, Niki Crookdake, will also be speaking and giving her views on the proposal for a secondary school on the sports field site.

We do hope you are able to attend.
