Help Save the Heart of Mortlake

Do you care what happens to the future of the Brewery Site in Mortlake?

The site was sold in November 2015. There will be an open exhibition in the brewery building from 1 - 4 March (to be confirmed shortly) where the developers will reveal their proposals. Full planning applications will be made later in 2017.

But you donít have to wait till the exhibition or the planning applications to let Richmond Council and your local Councillors know what you think and feel about the Brewery Site.

Comment on the Local Plan

The final public consultation on the Councilís Local Plan closes on 15 February. The pages relating to the Brewery Site can be found here

MBCG suggests that Mortlake residents should object to the aspect of the plan which requires the developers to provide a 1000-pupil secondary school on the site. This is a major change from the 2011 planning brief, agreed with the community, which envisaged a much smaller primary school. Including a school of this size would make for an overbearing development. We believe there are alternative and better sites for the school.

Talk to your neighbours

Not everyone has access to the internet or uses social media. We plan send our leaflet to all Mortlake residents. But the more neighbours talk to each other about the brewery development, the greater the numbers of people who will make their views known to the Council.

Give your views at the developer's exhibition

We have now been told that the exhibition will be held from Wednesday 1 March to Saturday 4 March on the brewery site. But this has yet to be confirmed. As soon as we know for certain it will be publicied on our News page. You can also check the Soundings site, who are the public consultation firm appointed by the developer.
